Playing at the Castle

We tried a few times to get a cute picture but were faced with too many distractions.
Helena looked away just as the picture finally took but I promise you, about a second before they looked adorable! And yes, that is a French braid in her hair, my baby has a French braid. How did we get this far?

Jessica, I can't believe that Helena is almost 3!! That's crazy. I love the pictures of them playing! Keep up the posting. Everyone else seems to be slacking. (myself included)

I believe it is called a "free" braid now. We don't say the F word here in the good old USA.

Jessica,

Thank you for the great blogging! I love to read it and keep up on what is happening with your family. Even though we moved away nine months ago, we are still able to keep up on what is going on thanks to your blog. Thanks again. Please tell the rest of your family "hi" for us and I can't wait to read your next posting!

Marla,

It's great to hear from you! We've appreciated your notes and e-mails and the Christmas card. I'm so glad you enjoy our blog, we have a lot of fun and love keeping up with people and sharing what's going on in our lives with our wonderful friends. How's school going for you and Mark? Are you enjoying the Chicago winter? ;-)

Miss you guys!

Jess-
Thanks so much for the comment. I think it may have something to do with personality that giving up things in that sort of discipline doesn't work to bring me closer to God. I get too frustrated when I'm not perfect about giving up whatever I give up. Failure is a big deal to me. Anyway, I really liked the article you linked to and completely agree that a lot of people give up things for selfish motivation. And for me, adding something to my life is much more about where I need to be with God and not so much about making myself feel better about me. But thanks for throwing that perspective out!
