About Me
- Name: Jessica
- Location: Houston, Texas, United States
Refuse to accept the status quo. I challenge everything. It is important to me that I understand why I do what I do and I'll challenge everyone else too because that is how I learn. Christ-follower, student, teacher, artist, musician, mother, wife, daughter, friend, home-schooler, doula, home-birther, knitter, abuse survivor, advocate of women, children, families and peace, I value relationships more than anything in this life. There is room for my life for my passions for birth, music, lit., nature, art, dance, knitting, cooking, Scripture, film, theology, philosophy, writing, and loving my family. I know I don't have all the answers and I'm willing to listen, I don't argue for the sake of arguing or to win but I am passionate and opinionated while being open to change. Wrap all that up and then some and serve it with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine and some chocolate and that's a little bit of who I am. Just an ordinary woman in my every day rebellious ways.

That's the guy I've come to know and appreciate so much. It's amazing how once in a while a picture can capture in a moment the true spirit of a person.
I have copied this picture to my hard-drive. I have you now Jeremy.
Love ya'
Don
I love it! That's my son! I am so proud to have you both part of Greater Europe Mission! You have joined the family I have been part of for 25 years now. Welcome!
I love the way you presented your Candidate Orientation experience. I also hope I got a little better family picture than the one on your blog. I need to take about 10 more pictures before I can develop the film. :<(
Love you guys! Mommy
p.s. thanks Jessica for teaching me how to use the blog!
stellar...simply amazing...
No problem mommy, glad you feel comfortable on the blog. We're thrilled to be a part of GEM now too, great things have already been happening in some surprising ways this week.
Isn't this just a great picture of Jeremy?! Makes me laugh each time! Looking forward to your picture of our family! Thank you!
Umm, was that pose created on purpose? If not it is a wonderful moment captured as only a good photographer could, or an opportunistic person with a camera! It's a great picture, thanks for sharing!
I told you last night, but this picture is just plain quality.
Mom Martin,
That picture says it all and I don't even know what it is about!
Takes me back to the time we were in front of the stove, on the floor with the Dove Chocolate and the Godvia Liqueur, waiting for the truffle mix to harden.
Hope to see that in a magazine one day for a ad for breathe mints!
Looin' good Jeremy.
Jeremy was born around the beginning of punk rock. Therefore, it seems only fitting that he should be the first punk rocker missionary to Great Britain or France. To achieve an authentic punk rocker look, he would have to spike his hair more. Then color each spike a different color, have black nails and lips and wear a torn shirt and jeans. For the finishing touch, he should wear a black dog collar and bracelet that have metal spikes. He would also need to compose some Christian punk music--that would take the music world by storm--to go with his new image.
I always thought that Jeremy's coloring was similar to Phil's and that is why he looked so good in my husband's clothes. I forgot that his beard is the same color of Phil's until I saw this picture. What a hoot!
Glad you like the photo. It was the first of two shots. It was not setup, I think Jeremy was looking back to determine where I was, and why I was taking a photo of him. It was a bit of skill, and maybe this time more "opportunistic" as one has suggested. Maybe it will become a classic. Perhaps I should have done photography instead of architecture.
ive said this on myspace but that is truly my favorite pic of jeremy!! thanks for sharing pics from the trip, and the quotes crack me up...esp. the "jessica, will you be our accountability partner for fundraising" in ref. to being kicked in the pants! hehe...im calling tomorrow so we can plan some hang out time!
